Help the Reginald F. Lewis Museum share the rich history of African Americans in Maryland. Become a Docent! The Reginald F. Lewis Museum is looking for passionate and energetic individuals to join our family as docent tour guides. A love of African American History is a bonus. Join our next Docent Class beginning on Monday, January 22, 2018 from 10am to 12 noon. Training is 8 weeks long and participants will conduct a mock tour at the end of training. To be the premier experience and best resource for information and inspiration about the lives of African American Marylanders. The museum seeks to realize its mission by collecting, preserving, interpreting, documenting and exhibiting the rich contributions of African American Marylanders from the state's earliest history to the present and the future.
Description
The museum is located in downtown Baltimore on President and Pratt Streets. Volunteers will be utilized in all areas of the museum such as our museum shop, resource center, theater, providing tours to groups, and school age children, and assisting with special events.
