Help an elementary school student develop verbal expression and listening/ reading comprehension skills as a Reading Buddy! Each session includes group instructional time and individual time with volunteers. Volunteers will receive instructional materials each session for reading, talking with students, and sharing a devotional or Bible story.
Ideal volunteer candidates:
- enjoy working with children/ people
- are patient, kind, and flexible
- can come 1-2 hours each week, most weeks September through early November
- are committed Christ-followers
This is a rewarding and satisfying volunteer experience.
Meeting dates and times: Sept. 5- Nov. 11
Mondays through Thursdays 3:00-5:00 PM
Sessions take place at Arcadia Park Branch Library (1302 N. Justin Av, Dallas, 75211.) Emerging FIELD programs are neither sponsored by nor affiliated with the Dallas Public Library.
Emerging FIELD is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) not-for-profit currently serving the west Oak Cliff area. Learn more and complete the volunteer application at www.emergingfield.org. A background check, interview and orientation are required.

Emerging Families in Engaged Learning and Discipleship (Emerging FIELD), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in April 2016, aims to provide educational and Christian discipleship training for people of all ages in low-income and/or immigrant communities. Currently, our classes are held at Arcadia Park Library in Dallas (west Oak Cliff). Emerging FIELD is neither sponsored by nor affiliated with the Dallas Public Library.
