The Red Cross is committed to reducing deaths from home fires by installing free smoke alarms in homes throughout the region.
We will be going to people’s homes who have requested FREE smoke alarms. We will be going out in teams of 3 from 9 am - 3 pm on Fridays, and 9 am - 3 pm and 4 - 8 pm on Tuesdays. The teams consist of an installer, educator and a recorder. Companies can meet at the Red Cross to form their teams of 3, get trained, go to the appointments then meet back up at the Red Cross when they are done.
Everything is provided but someone in the team will need a vehicle. Teams that are short will have a staff member go with them. Ideal group size would be 3-12 members but could go to 18.

How do we empower so many of our neighbors to respond to emergencies? By mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. We can't turn heartbreak into hope without your help!
