ORGANIZATION: Sound Generations

Lake City Seniors, a community partner of Sound Generations, is seeking a volunteer to greet older adults in a senior center setting. The Front Desk Greeter will work at the reception area of the Lake City Community Center on Mondays or Wednesdays. Programming is from 9am-3pm. Time and days are flexible. The ideal candidate(s) will have strong communication skills and some experience working with older adults. Some of the responsibilities: directing people to scheduled activities, providing resource materials at the front desk and registering participants. Bilingual in Spanish or Chinese a plus. Sound Generations, established in 1967, is Washington State's most comprehensive non-profit organization that supports people on their aging journey through community connections and accessible services. Established in 1967, we support almost 54,000 older adults, disabled persons, and those who care for them annually in King County.

Description

Our eleven programs operating throughout numerous community and senior center sites are constantly striving to expand the provision of food security, transportation, health & wellness, and assistance services to under served and marginalized populations. We are committed to helping all people, especially those in low-income communities and communities of color, obtain the services they need while feeling included and respected in a community that affirms aging.
