The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know about the most effective ways to contribute.
United Way's Digital Inclusion program works to make sure that all adults and families in our community have the skills and access they need in order to fully engage online. You can help low-income, elderly, and other community members gain confidence and skills by volunteering in our open access computer lab! As a Computer Lab Mentor, you’ll help adults use computers during open lab hours at the Provo City Library. The lab runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2-5 PM in the Special Collections Room.
You'll draw on your expertise to help patrons: search the internet, set up social media accounts, look for jobs online, send emails, use Microsoft Office, avoid computer viruses, and much more.
