Homework help

Volunteering with the Boys & Girls Club of Fitchburg and Leominster and Gardner is a rewarding experience. Due to the support and dedication of nearly 100 volunteers annually, existing programs are strengthened, new programs are created, and services are extended to more youth in the community.

This fall, the Gardner Clubhouse is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to support our PowerHour Homework Program. PowerHour is a program designed to reach academic success by providing homework help, tutoring and high-yield learning activities and encouraging members to become self-directed learners. Volunteers will help members gain a sense of mastery and accomplishment, vital to success in school and life.

Interested applicants must complete a CORI, SORI, and First Advantage National Background check.

For additional information, please contact Kelly Hartnett at khartnett@bgcfl.org.

About Boys & Girls Club of Fitchburg and Leominster

Location:

Mission Statement

"To inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens."

Description

Our Project Learn STEAM after school program and Summer Blast programs are different from many.

Our Club is unique in our region in that our focus is primarily in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM), along with programs in health, nutrition, community service, entrepreneurship, and of course, recreation and sports. The Club provides youth an opportunity for hands-on activities to explore STEAM where they may not have the opportunity during the school day. Also, through community events such as our annual Central MA Science Festival, we are able to reach beyond our members and share our focus with the entire region.

Each day, programs in our five core areas are offered, giving members access to activities related to Health and Life Skills, The Arts, Education & Career Development, Sports, Fitness & Recreation, and Character & Leadership Development.
