PR Volunteer Opportunity, Care For Friends - Traditional Media

In January of 2016, seven friends asked the question "what is it like to be homeless in Chicago?"

They decided to find out by becoming homeless themselves for one winter night - from sunset to sunrise. Armed with a tent and $5 each, they set out to find answers to things like:

  • Where can you sleep that will both be safe and undisturbed by the police?

  • How can you stay warm in the middle of winter?

  • Where can you find food to eat?

  • How can you manage things like going to the bathroom, washing up, and other basic human needs?

On February 23rd, 2018, Care for Friends is holding its third SLEEPOUT FOR THE HOMELESS. We are looking for an individual volunteer to take charge of a traditional media project to promote the 2018 sleepout. The successful candidate will have experience working with traditional media, and ideally experience of working with non-profits. This is a project-based role that will last until the SLEEPOUT happens. You will have the skillset to successfully promote the Care for Friends organization in order to increase participant numbers in the sleepout, through the successful promotion of it through traditional media channels. If you believe your have the skills and drive to make this project successful, please don't hesitate, apply today.
