Volunteer in the Food Bank
Impact the lives of local Johnson County families by giving your time at the Food Bank. This rewarding experience requires a commitment of only 3 hours per week.


The Food Bank needs friendly, dedicated volunteers to help us serve a growing number of food insecure people in our community.

We currently need volunteers who can fill the following weekly shifts:

  • Mondays: 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. (4 volunteers needed), 2 - 5 p.m. (4)
  • Tuesdays: 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. (2), 2 - 5 p.m. (3)
  • Wednesdays: 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. (1), 5 - 8 p.m. (2)
  • Fridays: 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. (3), 2 - 5 p.m. (1)
Food Bank volunteers perform a wide variety of tasks from stocking shelves, to bagging grocery items, to assisting clients. For more specific information on the variety of Food Bank volunteer positions and to access an application, please visit:jccrisiscenter.org/volunteer-now

Once you have completed your application, you will be contacted for an interview prior to training.

Requirements & Commitment

  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 16
  • Orientation or Training
  • 3 hours per week for at least 9 months
  • Complete an application, be invited to an interview, and attend four hours of training.
