ORGANIZATION: DOUGHMAIN FINANCIAL LITERACY FOUNDATION INCORPORATED

The DoughMain Financial Literacy Foundation was created to teach children basic financial and economic literacy skills to promote life-long financial health. The Foundation works closely with educators, opinion makers, business leaders and families to dramatically improve financial literacy and better prepare the next generation for a lifetime of good financial decisions. DMFLF creates and makes available free lessons, activities, and assessments of the highest quality to schools and teachers. We are currently developing a student-centered financial literacy program that is standard-based and provides 60 hours for high school students.

The DoughMain Financial Literacy Foundation offers unpaid internships to current students and recent graduates interested in learning the inner workings of a nonprofit organization.

Requirements:
Applicants must:

  • Be available to work 15-22 hours per week during regular business hours at DMFLF HQ Princeton, NJ
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a high level of computer and subject matter and competency
  • Be self-motivated, organized, willing to help with any project no matter how large or small, and be able to balance multiple priorities at once.
  • Have a strong desire to make a difference, a passion for the DMFLF mission, a positive attitude, and a sense of humor

Additional Requirements:

  • Expert in Grant Writing
  • Experience in working with a Non-profit
  • Experience in working with a development team
  • Experience with researching and making connections
  • Courses or Experience with Business Technical Writing is a Plus
  • Willing to teach young men and women about Development
  • Experience with CRM systems (Salsa is a Plus)

Organized and Experience with Managing
Must have 3-5 years in working with Grants and a Nonprofit
Strong Communication Skills

Mission Statement

The Mission of DoughMain Financial Literacy Foundation (DMFLF) is to prepare today's students for a lifetime of financial responsibility through engaging financial literacy educational programs delivered at no cost to schools and homes. Our student centered, multi-sensory program and visionary approach promotes sustained learning and provides educators the opportunity to address the needs of the individual learner using relevant and relatable curricula. Our programs are offered at no cost.

Description

The DoughMain Financial Literacy Foundation was formally incorporated in New Jersey in 2012, and in 2013 was granted IRS tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) as a Public Charity. Apart from educators working on curriculum development, DMFLF has a predominantly volunteer staff. The DMFLF Board of Trustees consists of 11 active members. The organization’s principal offices are located in Princeton, New Jersey. Since its inception, the DoughMain Financial Literacy Foundation has created and tested a curriculum that has become one of the most popular in the schools where it has been piloted. We are presently engaging schools and educators within the central New Jersey and Bucks County in Pennsylvania in hopes to fulfil our vision for as a "A Financially FIT America."
