ORGANIZATION: Dallas Pets Alive!

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To support the assistant marketing director and marketing director in execution of Dallas Pets Alive social media strategy on specified platform (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, etc).

SALARY/PAYRATE: Volunteer.

TIME REQUIREMENT: 5-8 hours per week with flexibility of schedule required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Post scheduled content on assigned social media platform multiple times daily.
  • Respond to any messages, mentions and other communication from DPA social media followers.
  • Report to marketing director and assistant director on social media trends.
  • Understand social media analytics and report on analytics to marketing team leadership.
  • Collaborate with marketing leadership and DPA leadership team on social media strategies for the specified platform.

CONTACTS WITH OTHERS: Correspondence with DPA marketing team and outside social media followers and other supporters on a regular basis.

CONTROLS OVER WORK : This position reports to the Assistant Marketing Director, Marketing Director, Vice President - Administration and the Executive Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be proficient with use of email and have smartphone access.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, and maintain professional level correspondence at all times.
  • Must display a positive attitude at all times and present DPA in a positive manner to the public.
  • Must have flexibility of schedule, including availability on weekends.
  • Must be a self-starter and comfortable both with taking initiative and with working collaboratively as a team.
  • Must be flexible and able to work effectively with a variety of leadership styles.
  • Must love animals and be dedicated to the cause of animal welfare.

OUR APPROACH

Our organization is run mostly by volunteers, and all of our pets are housed by dedicated foster families throughout North Texas.

We rescue and help the healthy and treatable pets at greatest risk for euthanasia at our partner shelters. We also provide assistance and resources to pet owners having problems so significant that they need to surrender their pets to a shelter.

In our rescue program, we focus on:

  • Rescuing healthy and treatable pets at North Texas shelters at the greatest risk of being euthanized
  • Reducing owner surrender through our Positive Alternatives to Shelter Surrender (PASS) program
  • Opening kennel space by transporting pets to partners in the U.S. and Canada in need of adoptable animals
  • Challenging the way our community views rescue animals. We believe that adoption is not only right thing to do but THE thing to do!

*At this time, we do not accept court-ordered service hours nor track community service hours.

*Our organization does not currently have an established office location, however in March 2023 DPA opened up an Adoption Container.
