Dallas Pets Alive is a volunteer-run organization dedicated to saving at-risk animals from the local animal shelter. DPA is growing and we need more volunteers to help so we can save even more animals!

The Volunteer Recruiter AD will help us find new sources for volunteers, such as external volunteer web sites, job or volunteer fairs, internship programs, etc. The recruiter only needs to source the volunteers and the volunteer onboarding team will take it from there!

SALARY/PAYRATE: Volunteer.

TIME REQUIREMENT: 5-10 hours per week

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Identify new places where we can find volunteers
• Manage a team of volunteers to help with the following activities:
• Post open jobs on external volunteer websites such as VolunteerMatch.org and Voly.org
• Post general requests for volunteers on external websites such as Nextdoor
• Find opportunities with local universities to recruit for internships or general roles
• Provide input into our social media posts for recruiting
• Recruit both skilled resources, such as marketing or accounting, and general skilled roles
• Track success and provide recommendations for better ways to find and recruit good volunteers

CONTACTS WITH OTHERS: This role will have frequent contact with the DPA Leadership team, the volunteer onboarding team, local colleges and universities and the public.

CONTROLS OVER WORK : This position reports to the Volunteer Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with recruiting or similar activities nice to have.
• Must be proficient with use of email and have regular phone access.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, and maintain professional level correspondence at all times.
• Must be skilled with spreadsheets and working with data.
• Must display a positive attitude at all times and present DPA in a positive manner to the public.
• Must possess excellent problem solving ability, and ability to work within deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
