Horses and Hotdogs Sunday's at Golden Gate Fields in Berkeley - this Sunday, May 20th.
Come out and enjoy a fun day at the racetrack serving beer, hot dogs, water and mimosas for a great cause. The City Horse program has as need for 15 local volunteers, 18 years of age and older. Volunteers for our Horses and Hotdogs Sundays work the concession booth and help our program(s) raise money for low income students of color in the Bay Area to get horsemanship/riding lessons for free. If you have never been to the racetrack in Berkeley, you are in for a treat.
Volunteers can work a full day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. or in four hour shifts - morning (10 a.m. - 2 p.m.) or afternoon (1 p.m. - 5 p.m.).

Description
CITY HORSE CONNECTS STUDENTS THROUGHOUT THE BAY AREA WITH LOCAL HORSE STABLES IN THEIR AREA. STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN THE CITY HORSE PROGRAM AS AN ELECTIVE COURSE THROUGH THEIR SCHOOL AND RECEIVE ACADEMIC CREDIT FOR LEARNING HORSEMANSHIP, GROOMING, NUTRITION AND BARN MANAGEMENT.
CITY HORSE ALSO PROVIDES OUT-OF-SCHOOL AND AFTER-SCHOOL OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTH INTERESTED IN LEARNING MORE ABOUT CAREERS AND LOCAL PROFESSIONALS WORKING IN AGRICULTURE, VETERINARY MEDICINE AND HORSEMANSHIP.
