ORGANIZATION: Placer County Library - Tahoe City Library

Position Overview: This is an opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of adults whose limited literacy is a challenge in their everyday lives. See how rewarding the experience can be. The goal of the tutoring program is to create an opportunity for individuals to improve their reading, writing, basic math, or learn English by working one-on-one with a tutor.

Responsibilities:
1. Tutor a learner 1-2 times each week for 1.5 hours in the Tahoe City Library
2. Submit monthly time logs
3. Coordinate with literacy staff

Qualifications:
1. Must be able to read, write, and speak English proficiently and clearly
2. Possess patience, flexibility, and excellent oral communication skills
3. Fingerprint clearance is required
4. Age 18 or older

Training Provided: Tutor training and all materials are provided. Individual assistance from literacy staff is available.
