The Chicago Debates (formerly Chicago Debate Commission) needs your support! Come work with Chicago students to support their skills in policy-making, speech, and critical thinking in a competitive environment. We have opportunity for your group of coworkers, congregation, alumni or fraternity to come support and help run a debate tournament for young urban students. Opportunities include judging policy debates or volunteer support staff. No debate experience needed and debaters (or non debaters) of all levels are encouraged to sign up.

Academic Debate is life changing for the debaters, but you can benefit too!

Why Judge Debate?

  • Empower a young person
  • Serve as a conscientious educator
  • Use your professional skills to support future leaders
  • Improve your professional network working with other judges
  • Academic service learning opportunity
  • Give back
  • Team Building fun!

The debate tournament is a long day, but you can feel free to help out in shifts. Come support one (or all) of our working shifts.
