Join the local Light The Night team as a Light The Night Retail Campaign Ambassador!

Ambassador of Light volunteers are a key part of our success in hosting retail campaigns across the First Coast.

What is a retail campaign you ask? It is when a retail company partners with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to raise funds. They offer an opportunity to make a donation when a guest checks out at their register. Across the First Coast we partner with GATE Petroleum, Burlington Coat Factory, Walgreens, Fifth Third Bank, and the Global Franchise Group.

As an Ambassador of Light volunteer, you will make surprise visits to our various retail partners in the First Coast Community. You will be a secret shopper, a cheerleader and a motivator for these retail partners. Visits can take place as often as the volunteer is available and can be done any day of the week and almost any time!

Essential Position Skills:

  • Possess a confident, outgoing and personal demeanor
  • Public speaking ability to present to small groups of employees
  • Access to transportation
  • Ability to make a number of store visits to the assigned stores over the duration of the campaigns (September - November)

Training will be provided.

Mission Statement

The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. We work tirelessly to find cures and ensure patients can access the lifesaving treatments they need. When someone experiences the fear and uncertainty of a blood cancer diagnosis, we provide hope, compassion, education and support. Our impact is felt beyond blood cancer. The breakthrough treatments we helped advance for blood cancers are now improving the lives of people affected by many types of cancer.

Description

Volunteers are our partners in the crusade to end cancer.

In 2017, LLS volunteers made a significant impact while selflessly dedicating their time and talent to achieve our mission. With countless ways to engage, from fundraising to providing patient support, our volunteers are changing the landscape of cancer.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's chapter offices located in Jacksonville and Orlando were founded to serve residents who have been touched by one of the blood cancers: leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. The chapter serves the northern and central portion of the state which encompasses 38 counties.
