Ski Trail Clean Up Party at Hogback, VT

crew from 2014
Brush haulers, lopper wielders, and chain sawyers are all welcome!

It's become a tradition: the Friday after Thanksgiving we meet to clean up the ski runs in preparation for winter skiing and riding at Hogback. We clip back face-slapping branches that are growing into the descent lines. We clear out blowdowns that are in the track. We scythe or weed whack the thickest patches of brambles. If you enjoy climbing up the mountain in winter and skiing or riding down, this is the day to meet fellow skiers and riders and contribute to keeping the slopes in good shape. (Please, do NOT do any trimming, pruning, or clearing on your own. Work with us on scheduled work days so that we can continue to have permission to maintain these ski lines.)

Bring your own favorite tool or borrow one from our stash. Note that if you plan to use a chain saw, you MUST have a full set of safety gear: chaps plus head/face/hearing protection. If you don't have a set of your own, get in touch with us at hmca@hogbackvt.org and we'll bring a set for you to use.

Meet in the parking lot on the south side of Route 9 near the white distillery building (the former Alpenglow).
