Volunteer Chef on African Wildlife Reserve
ORGANIZATION: Kuti Wildlife Reserve
Please visit the new page to apply.
Hello! At Kuti Wildlife Reserve, we are looking for an experienced chef to join our volunteer team. Our 2000 hectare reserve houses some of the last remaining forests and grasslands in the area. The mission of our nonprofit is to protect the African bush by working cohesively with local communities. The right candidate will help us develop sustainable and eco-friendly tourism. The main responsibility will be training our staff on professional cooking methods. This is a great way for new chefs to gain hands-on experience and confidence before entering the workplace.
We ask for a small placement fee from our volunteers. This fee supports our ongoing conservation and community projects. It also covers volunteer chalet accommodation and three meals a day. The price varies depending on the length of your stay. For this position, we are requesting a stay of at least three weeks, but you are welcome to stay longer and become involved with our wildlife conservation projects. Our start date is flexible.
Here at Kuti, we focus on getting back to nature. Volunteers who work with us have the opportunity to completely immerse themselves in the African bush. Volunteers stay in the tranquil wildlife reserve. We have chalets with a common area, showers, flushing toilets, and clean drinking water.
Malawi is often called "The Warm Heart of Africa", for its beautiful sights and kind people. Kuti is located an hour and a half from Lilongwe (the capital of Malawi). Chef volunteers would have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a new culture and learn about international cooking. Chefs would create a positive for the future of ecotourism in Central Africa. Apply today and see the difference you can make!

Mission Statement
Mission: preserve the African bush while helping local communities. Our 2000 Hectare reserve is located in central Malawi. This nation is known as 'The Warm Heart of Africa’, both for its stunning beauty and friendly people. It’s also one of the most densely populated countries in Africa and one of the poorest nations in the world. This puts enormous pressures on its natural resources. As a result, deforestation, overfishing, misuse of water, and illegal wildlife trade are big issues in Malawi. Here at Kuti, we do everything we can to provide refuge for wildlife and help locals choose sustainable lifestyles.
Description
Kuti Wildlife Reserve has been making progress since our establishment in 2005. We focus on protecting the Earth and supporting the people of Malawi. Our ongoing goal is to protect African biodiversity by changing local perceptions of wildlife. Our reserve is as important for the local communities as it is for the environment. We raise awareness about ecology and support community projects. By helping to educate Malawians to protect their heritage we hope that areas of natural beauty may be preserved for future generations.
