ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross - Cascades Region

The Disaster Preparedness Coordinator will facilitate events related to the Home Fire Preparedness Campaign and support all other Preparedness programs, including The Pillowcase Project and adult preparedness presentations, across their assigned counties. They will accomplish this through leading volunteers in installation events, delivering presentations, conducting outreach, and recruiting and developing volunteers to support preparedness programs.

  • Develop, coordinate, and lead volunteer teams for reoccurring smoke alarm installation events.
  • Support the Home Fire Preparedness Campaign as needed through events, recruitment, training, and coordination.
  • Deliver emergency preparedness education through both formal presentations and outreach events.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness presentations and outreach events. This includes scheduling presenters, including themselves, preparing materials, and maintaining contacts with partner organizations.
  • Develop, train, and support volunteers for all Preparedness programs.
  • Support disaster response activity as needed.
  • Attend AmeriCorps sponsored orientation, trainings, meetings and disaster response.
