Combat soldiers have often seen the worst mankind has to offer. It chanes them in fudamental ways. Inflicting emotional, spitirual, social and moral injuries that imact them throught out their lifetime, epecially as they face death. Some Veterans return from war bitter. Some return enlightened;
all return with lessons the rest of us need to know. I am trying to build my veteran to veteran volunteer program and need Veteran's that will join my team. Only visit Veteran's at the most critical time of their lives. When it is time for a veteran to pass the greatest gift is an understanding soul at the bedside. Someone that has walked in those boots on the ground. Experienced the losss, greif and guilt of being the solider that made it home. We service all of Orange County -- you will always say where you will go. We are a service not a place and try to make sure as many patietns that can and want to die at home do.
Come help me grow this program for our veterans and honor them in the way they should be.
We have 7 veterans on our hospice program right now and no veterans to visit them.
They are not really interesed in a visitor unless it is a Veteran.
I will support you and you will always be the "boss" on my watch.

Maxcare Hospice- Hospice is a highly motivated team of clinical professionals on a mission to provide comfort for our patient's and families on service. We are pround to go the extra mile when time is precious. If you are looking for an opportunity to get directly involved in changing lives, consider joining the most compassionate and clinically advanced hospice team in Southern California. We have earned our stars with Medicare (5 star highest ranking) as well as the Veterans Administration (VA), for doing our part as a "We Honor Veterans" partner.
Our volunteers serve as an integral part of the interdisciplinary group in various settings, providing companionship for the patient and sometimes family members. They offer bereavement and administrative support as well as music and pet therapy. Whatever your skill level, we would love to talk with you. Veterans strongly encouraged to apply, as are bi-lingual, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Vietnamese and Farsi candidates.
