Volunteers needed to run the library Movie Morning program. We provide training to set up the movie on the big screen and run the popcorn machine. The Movie Morning runs on Saturday mornings in the Mounce Library 2nd floor meeting room. The movies are free to families in the community. You don't have to make every Saturday as we will train several volunteers.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Brazos Valley Literacy Coalition is four-fold: To help better the lives of adults in our community who suffer from functional illiteracy. To help adults in our community learn English so that they can understand medical professionals, talk with their child’s teacher, get a job or advance in the one they have, and keep safe in the workplace. To help young children (0-5) gain a foundation of literacy skills needed to enter school ready to succeed. To help school aged children advance in reading skills to read on or above grade level.
Description
The Brazos Valley Literacy Coalition started in 2016 as a collaboration between Bryan/College Station Library System, the Friends of the BCS Library System, and Workforce Solutions of the Brazos Valley. The following year many other community organizations and Brazos Valley libraries met to address urgent literacy needs. Within the coalition there are three committees. Each committee addresses specific age groups with literacy solutions:
- Adult Literacy (adults 18 and above, functionally illiterate)
- Early Literacy (ages 0-5)
- School-Aged Literacy (grades K-12)
