THIS IS AN UNPAID INTERNSHIP OR VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
Instructors needed for 2017-2018 academic year (Fall 2017 - May 2018, Specific Dates Below ) to teach at least 8 hours per month (4-6 hours/week). GWC is a FREE program offered to girls (but open to boys) in grades 6-12.
Instructors will follow GWC curriculum every week and provide a fun, interactive, hands-on environment, without the traditional classroom feel. Instructors must be comfortable implementing and explaining basic programming concepts such as variables, loops, conditionals, and functions; Computer Science or Technology degree preferred but not required.
Must pass an online GWC assessment and background check. Classroom management skills are a must. Fulfill communication and reporting requirements in accordance with BGCM and GWC club standards. Work with GWC and BGCM staff to organize activities which expose girls to the tech world, including field trips to tech companies and bringing in guest speakers. Class days/times may be flexible. - Farmingdale School, 49 Academy Street, Farmingdale NJ 07727 - Tue/Thur 6:30-8:30pm (Oct 3rd - Dec 21st)
- Brookdale Community College, 213 Broadway, Long Branch, NJ - Tentatively Mon/Tue or Tue/Thur 6:30-8:30pm
- The Preparatory Academy, 3, 46 Bennetts Mills Rd, Jackson, NJ - Evening Days/Times TBD

Job Requirements:
- 2 Years Classroom Management experience
- 2 Years Computer Science or Equivalent experience
- 2 Years Teaching experience
- 2 Years Technology experience
- 2 Years Working with Children/Teens experience
- Level of education: Associates Degree or equivalent?
- Must be willing to complete a GWC online assessment and undergo a background check, in accordance with local law/regulations
