Purpose: To enhance the cohesion of all internal constituents through physical and organizational attention
Description : Passion Impact (PI) is a startup nonprofit based in Portland, OR that empowers students to chase their passions through community service. Our Human Resources Intern will be responsible for creating a better working environment in the office, building out policies that would otherwise put PI in jeopardy, creating long term plans for volunteer appreciation among other focuses, and helping evaluate the programs that are currently in motion. The primary goal of this person will be to enhance the quality of experience for PI members young and old, new and tenured. Our prime candidate will be extremely self-driven and invested in setting long term goals for PI as a whole. We work hard at PI and expect the same of you, but you also better be ready to have fun!
Education
- Recent graduate (within 1 year) or currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in communication, political science, marketing, or relevant field preferred.

Objectives
- Review and update all of PI policies and add new policies
- Create an appreciation guide for all contributing members of PI
- Create one social event that brings PI members together
- Help the ED review the new evaluation for student volunteering
- Evaluate the Fall Volunteer Fair Program’s effectiveness
- Complete an Internship Portfolio that includes a personal reflection and a presentation
Duties
- Review policies for inaccuracies and necessary updates
- Create, edit, and confirm all policy edits and additions by the ED and Board of Directors
- Understand all current and future volunteer positions
- Develop an appreciation plan and budget associated with it
- Work with the Fundraising Team to design a way to fund all appreciation efforts
- Create a list of activities and survey all volunteers for potential social events
- Create a timeline of all social events needs
- Understand the evaluation plan and work with nonprofits to carry out each step
Commitment
- February 12, 2018 - June 11, 2018 (possibility to extend based on performance and project availability)
- Must attend February 12, 2018 Training for the next cohort of Interns
- Must attend weekly office meetings on Monday (Times to be decided)
Compensation
As a small grassroots organization we do not currently have funding to compensate interns. If you are a student and qualify for workstudy at PCC, PSU, or UP, we will gladly work with your college or university to make sure that you receive compensation for your time devoted to Passion Impact. We are also happy to help you receive course credit.

Volunteer Positions Available: Lend your specialized skills to one of Passion Impact's capacity building committees. Committees meet monthly to do the behind-the-scenes work to ensure that the organization runs smoothly for the students we serve.
