HOLT ELEMENTARY in Clearfield, UT is seeking "Volunteer Grandparent" Reading Mentors for the 2017-2018 school year! You can volunteer 1 or 2 days per week for as little as 1-2 hours. You will help children who are struggling to read at their grade level by providing one-on-one listening. Your enthusiasm and caring will help to introduce them to the wonder and delights of books.
Davis Co. RSVP makes it easier for volunteers who are age 55 or greater to participate by providing benefits for your volunteer service. By becoming a member of RSVP, you can be reimbursed for your travel mileage to and from the school, up to 200 miles per month. In addition, we provide supplemental insurance to cover you while you are volunteering. Contact Pat Brown, RSVP Program Coordinator directly at 801-525-5052 or pbrown@daviscountyutah.gov to enroll. Get signed up today! Reading program will start the end of September.

Davis County RSVP empowers and enables Americans 55+ in addressing community needs and concerns through volunteering.
Description
Americans 55+ have a lifetime of experience to share and the desire to make a real difference in their world. Members of this mature generation have managed households, been business owners and nurses, farmers and salespeople, artists and executives. Now they are ready to put their unique talents and expertise to work in their communities, and enrich their own lives in the process.
RSVP is the connection to aid volunteers in choosing how and where to serve, time of service, causes to support, and how to get started. RSVP provides pre-service orientation, training from the organization where service is given, supplemental insurance while on duty, and, in some cases, a mileage reimbursement to cover the cost of travel between home and the volunteer site.
When you volunteer, you're not just helping others - you're helping yourself. Volunteering leads to new discoveries and new friends. Plus, studies show that volunteering helps you live longer and promotes a positive outlook on life.
