Community Warehouse is Portland's only nonprofit furniture bank. We receive donations of gently used furniture and household items, and redistribute them to neighbors in need in our community.
We have a great volunteer opportunity to assist Program staff in working with donors, case managers, and clients in the Warehouse:
Warehouse Ambassadors
- Accept donations from the public and sort donated items onto shelves
- Explain the mission of the organization to donors
- Bundle housewares and linens for easier distribution to clients
- Assist case managers and clients in obtaining needed household items
- Maintain order and cleanliness of the Warehouse
- Treat all visitors to the Warehouse with respect and sensitivity

Mission Statement
Life is better when a house is a home. Home is at the center of every person’s well-being and livelihood. We believe there are enough beds, blankets, pots and pans, and furnishings circulating in our community for everyone. Our furniture bank mission is to connect these furnishings to our neighbors in need, creating stronger home foundations and brighter futures.
