Volunteers are needed to help therapists in the pool. The pool is located at Brookdale Plaza, 60 North Nicoll Avenue, Glen Ellyn.
Volunteers:
- Assist putting on/taking off flotation devices/ankle weights
- Assist with play activities during therapy
- Assist therapists in the pool and follow simple 1-2 step directions that therapists give about a child you may be assisting that day
- Demonstrate good safety awareness in and out of the pool
- Do not need to know how to swim, but must be able to walk forward/backward/sidestep in water up to 4 feet deep
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs using good body mechanics
- Can tolerate being in the water for up to 3 hours; water is chlorinated and has a temperature of 87°
- Have a positive and encouraging personality
- Are patient and responsible
- Who have a playful attitude are especially motivating for clients
When: Tuesdays, 2:00-5:30pm
