ORGANIZATION: East Side Elders

Book Club Volunteer

Description: Organize and lead a book club for seniors on the East Side! This is a great opportunity to share your love of reading and community. The Book Club Volunteer will plan and implement all aspects of a book club for seniors, assisted by East Side Elders staff members.

Date and time: Flexible - we will work with your schedule to plan a monthly book club.

Activities:

  • Research and secure a location for the book club
  • Choose books from the selection available from the Saint Paul Library
  • Create and implement a plan to promote the book club
  • Lead the book club

Benefits:

  • Meet new people in the community
  • Bring a fun and engaging activity to seniors on the East Side
  • Gain experience with planning and implementing a program for a nonprofit organization

Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel to the book club location, library, and the East Side Elders office
  • Must have an active library card
  • Able to communicate in a respectful, friendly manner with a diverse population

Our teams of volunteers, students and community members provide a wide range of services and activities that give the necessary support and resources to our elderly neighbors wherever they call home.
