Volunteering for the Children’s Cove may require volunteers to travel throughout the Cape and the Islands to bring awareness to child sexual abuse and the Cove’s mission. Some of these awareness events could include orchestrating an informational table at a community event, going to local schools or community centers and providing resources, or organizing awareness of events independently. You may be asked to volunteer evenings or early mornings during the week and on weekends in both indoor and outdoor settings. Volunteers are essential to bringing awareness to the community. Because of the sensitive nature of the cases that come through Children’s Cove, and the confidentiality of the cases in which Children’s Cove works, volunteers do not work directly with children.

Our Mission: To provide coordinated and comprehensive multidisciplinary services to child victims of sexual abuse/serious physical abuse and their families.
Description
Children’s Cove provides a compassionate, efficient, child-friendly facility for child abuse intervention. Children and families journey through a streamlined process which reduces the chances that the children are re-traumatized and preserves the best evidence for investigators. Children’s Cove staff facilitates an under-one-roof collaboration of social and legal agencies to protect, treat and counsel child abuse victims and their families, and to investigate and prosecute the abusers.
