"Igor" is nearly 90 and has difficulty seeing and hearing. However, he is sharp as a tack and very engaged with life and its existential questions. Because of the limitations of his eyesight and hearing, his ability to be out and about and in contact with people is limited, and he finds this isolating. He would love a weekly visit with a Russian speaker to discuss current events, politics, and life’s 'big questions’ - such as human relations, happiness, how to be a good person. The volunteer needs to be a sensitive listener and interlocutor, and be interested in having discussions and debates. The client is originally from Belarus.
