FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology)

During the 2018-19 robot season, we have many volunteering opportunities for two of our programs - FIRST LEGO League (for ages 9-14) and FIRST Robotics Competition (ages 14-18).

1. FIRST
LEGO League will be supporting over 20 FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) robotics competitions from Dec. 2018 - February 2019 throughout Maryland for students ages 9- 14. There will be hundreds of fun opportunities to volunteer for a day as a judge (both technical or non-technical) or referee or for logistical support. A technical or robotics background is NOT required (although these are fun roles for engineers & techies) and online and on-site training is provided. These competitions run like sporting events and are high energy.

Visit: https://marylandfll.org/volunteers-needed/ to fill out a 3-minute interest form and to learn more.

2. FIRST Chesapeake - a partnership between Maryland, DC, and Virginia for the FIRST Robotics Competition will have three 2-day volunteering opportunities in March 2019. There are roles available for judges, technical support and logistics. A technical or robotics background is NOT required (although these are fun roles for engineers & techies) and online and on-site training is provided. These competitions run like sporting events and are high energy.
