Carnegie of Homestead

The Board of Trustees for the Carnegie of Homestead in Munhall, PA is currently accepting applications for several board vacancies that will exist in the upcoming months.

Who We Are:

The Carnegie of Homestead consists of a vibrant library, a classical music hall, and a complete athletic club. We provide many services and programs to the surrounding community. Our vision is to be an indispensable asset contributing to a strong, vibrant region by boosting community development and fostering self-??enrichment. Our mission is to provide programs and facilities that enhance learning, wellness, and quality of life within and outside the Steel Valley.

What We Seek:

We are seeking to identify a pool of dedicated individuals who have a passion for public libraries and the communities they serve, and who have the ability to effectively advocate for them. From this pool we will select and appoint persons to serve on the Board of Trustees for the Carnegie of Homestead. Trustees oversee the finances, the Director of Administration, and the operations of the Carnegie of Homestead. They spend about 5--10 hours a month in fulfilling their duties. Please note that this is a volunteer position. Trustees are never compensated for their service. Trustees are tasked with representing the interests of the Carnegie of Homestead and establishing effective working relationships with community leaders, library staff, and fellow trustees.

The selection process for board members will include interviews with current board members.
