We are looking for volunteers to help day of event for the Triangle Heart Walk The Heart Walk will be on Sunday, Oct. 1st at PNC Arena. It is our largest fundraising event in the Raleigh area and we are expecting over 10,000 participants.
We have many general volunteer areas in which you can assist. We need volunteers for set-up, on the Walk route, greeters, and in the tents.
Typically we organize volunteers in two shifts: 8am-12pm (set-up) and 12pm-4pm. You may work both shifts if you would like. Volunteers who work both shifts are provided with a boxed lunch.
Specifically, we are also looking for anyone that can provide:
- Face Painting or Balloon animals for our Kid's Zone
- Any dance/cheerleader/band/etc. groups that can be placed along the route to encourage participants/cheer them on as they go by or stationed at the finish line.
- Any licensed massage therapist/masseuse or massage therapy students who can provide their own massage table to help in our Top Walker/VIP tent.

The American Heart Association is a national non-profit organization, headquartered in Dallas, TX. We have local offices that conduct fundraising activities such as the Children's Heart Challenge, Hoops for Heart, the Heart Walk and Heart Galas. We educate the public on risk factors for heart disease and stroke, as well as share our guidelines for heart healthy activity. We also work with local elected officials to pass life-saving legislation and health care initiatives.
