We want you to help us defeat ALS. While there are so many different ways to be involved with our organization, volunteering at events is often the forgotten way to give back. We are calling upon you because we need people like you with a big heart, and determined mind.

June 15 is the Anchorage Walk to Defeat ALS, will you help us out by volunteering?

This Walk depends on volunteers, we need folks to help with registration, handing out t-shirts, cheerleading, set-up/clean-up and more.

Volunteers will be given a red volunteer t-shirt to wear. We'll have coffee and some light refreshments available for you so that we can ensure that the day starts off right!

Why should you volunteer? More than just a few-mile trek, the Walk to Defeat ALS(r) is an opportunity to bring hope to people living with ALS, to raise money for a cure, and a chance for the community to rally around those they love who are facing this disease.

Money raised at this event will go to assist local ALS patients and their families/caregivers. The ALS Association provides in home visits from a Care Coordinator to help with the complexities of living with this disease. We also loan medical equipment to patients, as needed, free of charge. Some of the other services this event supports are respite grants to caregivers, research, advocacy, support groups, workshops, and ALS clinics.
