Will you step out for a teen who needs you?

Brady High School's mentoring program, Brady Engage, is looking for committed, loving, and motivated individuals to help mentor our students. The majority of Brady's student body is considered low-income (more than 80% on Free and Reduced Lunch), and many come from single-parent homes. Most have never had a stable and caring adult in their lives, and haven't the slightest idea of what that looks like. Brady Engage is designed to intervene on behalf of these students, and pair them with an adult that can guide them through life's varying challenges and difficulties.

The CDC argues that "students who a positive relationship with an adult are more likely to be successful, both inside and outside of the classroom." There is an abundance of additional evidence to support this. Long story short, mentoring is a proven method for radically improving life outcomes. Perhaps even, the most tried and true method. The students at Brady are in desperate need of this support from adults.

Would you consider stepping in the gap for these students? Mentors will receive guidance and training on how to interact with their mentees, and will have year-long support from the mentoring coordinator. Brady Engage strives to create a close community among mentors, as well as provide mentors with fun and exciting ideas on how to engage with your student. Our mentors have a blast!

If you are interested, please contact Daniel Mulitauopele at 303-982-8016 or through email at daniel.mulitauopele@jeffco.k12.co.us to get scheduled for an info/training meeting. Mentors must be at least 25 years of age to apply, as well as be willing to commit to mentoring for the length of the school year for at least an hour a week.
