Whole Family Care is seeking a new President of the Board of Directors. If you are passionate about growing a nonprofit organization with a noble cause of serving single parent families in the Kansas City Northland area and you are a leader in the nonprofit space, we would like to talk to you! We are looking for a dynamic leader who has helped nonprofits in the early stages of development to join our board. The President of the Board of Directors is the key management leader of Whole Family Care. The Board President is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs and strategic plan of the organization. Other key duties include fundraising, marketing, and community outreach. The position reports directly to the Board of Directors.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) Board Governance: Works with board in order to fulfill the organization mission.

2) Financial Performance and Viability: Develops resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization.

3) Organization Mission and Strategy: Works with board and staff to ensure that the mission is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning and community outreach.

4) Organization Operations. Oversees and implements appropriate resources to ensure that the operations of the organization are appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree
  • Transparent and high integrity leadership
  • Three years senior nonprofit management or board leadership experience
  • Solid, hands-on, budget management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision-making and reporting
  • Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation
  • Ability to convey a vision of Whole Family Care’s strategic future to staff, board, volunteers and donors
  • Knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations unique to nonprofit sector
  • Skills to collaborate with and motivate board members and other volunteers
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Be well connected the Kansas City northland community as well as involved in their own church community.
  • Ability to interface and engage diverse volunteer and donor groups
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff
  • Be actively participating in and growing in his/her Christian faith

Investing in single parent families through childcare and mentorship in order to bring fulfillment and purpose to the whole family.

Description

We are a childcare facility providing no charge or low charge, high quality childcare to qualifying, low income, single parent families. As part of our program the parents are required to participate in a mentoring relationship once a week.
