Become a Give an Hour Provider:
Give an Hour's network is comprised of mental health professionals who set aside one session per week for a pro-bono GAH client (military, veteran, or loved one). Services may be provided by phone, in person, or using HIPAA compliant telehealth platform. Give an Hour providers are also sent referrals that use insurance or a sliding scale.
To volunteer, Providers sign up on our website as ready and available to assist someone when the need arises. Not all mental health professionals will have a client all year, and not all providers choose to give therapy hours as their time!
Healing Begins with YOU
One hour a week can truly make a difference in someone’s life. If you are a mental health professional carrying malpractice insurance, visit our registration page for additional information on how you can serve as a provider in the Give an Hour network. Opportunities are available for non-licensed volunteers as well!
To sign up: www.giveanhour.org, or respond through VolunteerMatch.

Mission Statement
Give an Hour’s mission is to develop national networks of volunteers capable of responding to both acute and chronic conditions that arise within our society. By harnessing the skill and expertise of volunteer professionals, we are able to increase the likelihood that those in need receive the support and care they deserve.
Description
We believe that within our communities we have the resources to address many of the challenges that face our society. These challenges, such as time in military service or victims of crime, often result in emotional pain and suffering. Since 2005 we have focused on providing free mental health care to active duty, National Guard and Reserve service members, veterans, and their families. In 2015, Give an Hour launched the Campaign to Change Direction, a public health effort designed to change the culture of mental health so that those who are suffering emotionally are better able to seek and receive care. In 2016, we began expanding our efforts to address the mental health needs of other populations. Presently, we are seeking mental health professionals to serve multiple populations.
