ORGANIZATION: Strawbery Banke Museum

Vintage & Vine 1

Vintage & Vine, the fine wine and food festival and silent auction, is the main annual fundraiser for Strawbery Banke Museum. Featuring food from over 30 local restaurants, over 200 varieties of wine, live music, and a fabulous silent auction, this is a fun and fast-paced event that supports education and preservation programs at the museum.

We are looking for at least 80 volunteers to fill many vital functions on September 8, 2018:

  • Event Setup and Cleanup
  • Assisting restaurants and wine distributors
  • Selling raffle tickets
  • Supporting the Silent Auction
  • Monitoring zero waste stations
  • Registration and check-in
  • Directing guests and answering questions

Volunteers will be given breaks and are allowed to sample food from the restaurants, but not the wine. The event is held rain or shine under tents spread throughout the museum grounds.

Please let us know as soon as possible if you can to help!

Mission Statement

To promote understanding of the lives of individuals and the value of community through encounters with the history and ongoing preservation of a New England waterfront neighborhood. Toward that goal, Strawbery Banke Museum: • Acquires and conserves, for today's visitors and for future generations, historic buildings, objects, and other materials pertinent to its mission. • Conducts research aimed at placing local developments within the broader context of city, state, and national history. • Disseminates the results of that research to the public through exhibitions, publications, demonstrations, tours, symposia, workshops, and other educational activities and programs.

Description

Strawbery Banke Museum is a place to learn, a place to gather, and a sustainable resource for the community. Through restored furnished houses, exhibits, historic landscapes and gardens, and costumed roleplayers, Strawbery Banke interprets the living history of generations who settled in Portsmouth, NH from the late 17th century to the mid-20th century. The historic houses and galleries are open May 1 through October 31, 10 am to 5 pm daily; and November through April for guided walking tours, site rentals, public programs, and special events.
