Abilis (ABLE-ISS) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides services and supports for over 700 individuals with special needs and their families from birth through the life span. Abilis has been a leader in serving the special needs community in lower Fairfield County for 65 years and has a long-standing reputation for high quality care.
We are seeking volunteers to help out in all areas, from residential services to recreational activities (including cooking class, music, and softball matches)! Schedules can be flexible and molded according to what your availability is.
Experience working with and/or volunteering with special needs populations is a plus, but not required.

Mission Statement
Abilis provides people with developmental disabilities and their families in Lower Fairfield County with supports and advocacy for building able lives and strong communities.
Description
Abilis provides lifespan services for people with developmental disabilities and their families from their first hours and throughout their lives.
Abilis' Youth Services provides a wide array of services and supports for families who have children who are experiencing a significant delay in any area of their development.
Abilis' Adult Services provides person-centered supports to individuals with intellectual disabilities and many who have co-occurring psychiatric disorders.
Abilis services and supports include: birth to three services, family training and support, parent to parent networking, respite care, autism specialty services, employment and residential supprts and recreation and leisure activities and suppots.
