We are looking for people who love to organize ("a place for everything and everything in it's place" type personality!), and who like to work independently or with a small group in a "behind the scenes" role. An ideal candidate would be someone willing to commit 3 months or more in the position. If you can lift heavy boxes- that's super!- but it's not necessary.
Typical tasks may include (depending on your interests): sorting donations, stocking our Street Outreach van, helping to unload deliveries, putting sorted donations into the correct bin/shelf, helping to improve organization, etc. If you are interested in a leadership role, we may be able to train you to take a lead in managing groups that come to the warehouse to volunteer.
Volunteer hours are available between 8 am and 5 pm, Monday - Friday, and are flexible depending on your schedule.

Homeward Alliance (formally Homeless Gear) is a Fort Collins-based nonprofit that provides a continuum of services to individuals and families who are homeless or - in some cases - at risk of becoming homeless: supplies that help them survive in the short-term, connections to resources in the interim and links to employment, housing and self-sufficiency in the long-term.
