The Anoka Metro Regional Treatment Center Auxiliary, located on 7th Avenue near Anoka High school, coordinates the activities of the Snack Bar and General Store, with proceeds from sales going back to buy special items clients within the treatment center. Two volunteers are needed per shift for each volunteer opportunity. Ideal volunteers would be comfortable working with people and maintaining confidentiality.
Volunteer Opportunities:
Snack Bar Attendant
Needed Wednesday or Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30
Located on main floor in pleasant common area
Sell coffee, doughnuts, hotdogs, bagels
General Store Attendant
Needed Monday or Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30
Located on main floor in pleasant common area
Work with another volunteer in making sales and assisting customers
Library Attendant
Help clients with computer questions, & help locate materials. Assistance needed on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30-11:30. Library attendant may rotate between the general store and library during busy times.
Planning and Hosting Parties
Volunteers help with planning, decorating, and set-up. Also assist at parties.
Training: On-site orientation and training provided for all positions. Background checks and fingerprinting, at hospital's expense, are required.

Volunteers enroll by completing a skills and interests checklist and these are matched to community needs. From the matches, the volunteer selects a volunteer job that is meaningful and fits.
