Event Description:
Chavis Park Celebrates is a free family event celebrating the 79th anniversary of the history, heritage and culture of John Chavis Memorial Park. We will have free inflatables, music, entertainment, community information booths, vendors, food trucks and more! This is a rain or shine event.
Volunteers will assist with setup, carnival games, arts and crafts, and activities. Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older to participate. All volunteers will be required to fill out a volunteer release form. Any volunteer under the age of 18 must have their parent or guardian sign the form as well.
There are two shifts to sign up for:
- 9:00 am - 12:00 pm - Event Set Up
- 11:30 am - 4:15 pm - Celebration Crew
*Per department policy this event cannot be used towards court-appointed or suggested community service hours.*
