Are you looking to gain some fun experience working with youth? Would you like to find a rewarding way to give back to your community?
The Downtown Berkeley Y is looking for volunteers in our Child Watch and Fun & Fitness programs.
Child Watch creates a safe and warm environment for children up to age 6 while their parents use the gym facilities. Duties include engaging infants/young children in play and interacting positively with them. Fun & Fitness is for older children age 6-13, and includes duties such as supervising children in activities afterschool, helping with homework, and leading games or art projects.
Volunteers must be 16 years or older and go through a background screen, including fingerprinting and reference check. We will work with your schedule, but we ask for a minimum of 6 months commitment. Interested applicants should email Volunteer Coordinator, Chelsea Tuomi, at ctuomi@ymcacba.org to request an application.
