At our Winter SchoolFari event last year, we were able to give the students of Valverde Elementary the experience of lifetime. Not only were the students able to enjoy all the festivities and attractions of the Denver Zoo Lights, they also had the comfort, support and companionship of our volunteers. Many of the volunteers noted how thankful and excited the students were to have a friend to walk them through the exhibits, which in turn gave our volunteers the reward and satisfaction for donating their time and efforts.
As a volunteer you'll be paired with one elementary student from Valverde elementary to help them experience Denver Zoo Lights. You'll be in a small group with other students and volunteers to enjoy the evening. Additional volunteer opportunities are also available to help with logistics of the event.

Mission Statement
Flyers for Kids is a nonprofit organization focused on helping to bring underprivileged children from a Denver Public School, Valverde Elementary, to Denver Zoo Lights annually. We are responsible for fundraising, gift purchases, recruiting volunteer participation, and providing needed supplies for the school.
Description
Last year Flyers for Kids raised over $5,000 in just three months, and took over 40 children, 70 volunteers and 15 staff members to the event. For 2017, our goal is to raise over $20,000, which will assist in tripling our efforts.
This year Schoolfari will take place Friday, December 8, 2017 at the Denver Zoo.
