Food Recovery at Irving Farm

Help us fight climate change and hunger by delivering excess food to a local homeless shelter. You will be walking with bags of excess food, which would have been thrown out by the restaurant, to the nearest homeless shelter.

You will visit the store a few minutes before closing time, pick up the edible food in a plastic bag, and deliver the food to a local shelter.

About ROHO COMPOST COMPANY

Location:

93 4th Avenue, P.O. Box 347, New York, NY 10003, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to reduce waste, feed people through food recovery, and compost food waste at various business sectors in New York City.

Description

RoHo aims to inform the community that Food waste is a huge driver of climate change. Direct action from the public and business sector is possible, to prevent landfilling of food waste. We believe food waste can be diverted from an environmental liability and into an economic asset.

Currently, we are composting 2 tons of food waste a month locally in Brooklyn and Hudson NY. And, we recovery 100 lbs of food a week and donate it to local shelters.
