Aloha,
Project Hawai'i, Inc. is a nonprofit organization run 100% by volunteers and solely supported by public donations. Our mission is to enhance the lives of homeless keiki and help them escape their cycle of poverty.
November is National Hunger and Homeless Awareness month, and we strive to help bring the awareness of the crisis that Hawai'i faces when it comes to children living unsheltered in our streets, parks, beaches, under bridges and in abandon cars. It is a LITTLE known fact that Hawaii is actually NUMBER ONE in the NATION for homelessness among children! Yes, we have more homeless children than anyone else per capita. Our crisis is ever growing and despite what might be said, NO THE CRISIS IS NOT GETTING BETTER!
Statistics show that 1 in 5 children across the country go a day without a meal, and even higher when school is out. In Hawaii, our crisis is much higher, and 99% of the children we provide services to will NOT have a healthy meal while their school is out for the Thanksgiving holiday.
We invite you to be part of our journey to help end this crisis! Help these children escape their cycle of poverty.
Your TIME is precious to one of these children. Your EFFORT is not lost when you volunteer with Project Hawaii at one of our events and collection sites.
Here is this weekends line up to make a difference:
November 18th- Saturday: Pearl City First Hawaiian Bank (corner of Waimano Home Rd/Kam Hwy)
11:00a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
November 19th- Sunday: Kane'ohe (windward city shopping center) First Hawaiian Bank (corner where Burger King and Toyota are)
11:00a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
YOU CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE!

Description
Project Hawai'i, Inc., is a nonprofit organization run 100% by volunteers to enhance the lives of children living in poverty situations on the islands of Hawai'i. Our public supported charity works year round to provide necessities to children living in substandard housing situations, such as tents on the waters edge, abandon vehicles, and make-shift structures hidden in the bushes and hills.
Our agency provides children with holiday parties, meals and services for all the major holidays including Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Other monthly services include providing emergency support, hygiene, food, clothing and outreach to the children living in homeless situations on 3 of the islands of Hawai'i, the Big Island (Hawai'i), Mau'i and O'ahu.
Project Hawai'i also provides educational and nutritional programs that include after school reading and tutoring programs and our summer camp activities. Children will also receive full back to school support from new backpacks filled with supplies, new outfits, and shoes. We also provide other educational needs throughout the year.
Project Hawai'i Summer Camp has ran for 15 years and won several dozen awards in nutrition and educational support. This program is our largest endevor and evolves year after to year to include even more learning opportunities to our keiki.
