ORGANIZATION: PCOS Challenge: The National Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Association

Bolt for PCOS is the country's largest event dedicated to raising awareness and funds to help fight polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

The Bolt for PCOS 5K Run/Walk at Georgia Tech is the second major event during PCOS Awareness Weekend 2017 - Atlanta. It follows the 5th Annual Atlanta PCOS Awareness Symposium the previous day which will also be held at Georgia Tech.

The Bolt for PCOS 5K Run Walk helps raise funds for PCOS education and support programs, research, health screenings, grants, as well as increasing awareness and public support for those with polycystic ovary syndrome.

The organization is seeking 15 volunteers to help with the event.

Duties may include:

  • Assisting with event setup and breakdown
  • Directing participants to the registration and race start areas
  • Checking in attendees
  • Handing out race packs, bibs and T-shirts
  • Timekeeping
  • Handing out refreshments
  • Assisting PCOS Challenge staff with day-of logistics and award ceremony

Hydration and light snacks are provided for volunteers on event day.

Fundraising

We also have a need for assistance with fundraising for the Bolt for PCOS event. We have a number of helpful tools, resources, scripts and incentives for fundraisers on the pcos5k.org website that make fundraising easy and fun!

Serving 60,000 members, PCOS Challenge: The National Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Association is the leading 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization globally that is advancing the cause for women and girls with PCOS. We touch the lives of women with PCOS and their supporters each year through multimedia programming, support groups, health screenings, grants, and education and awareness initiatives. Since our programs began in 2009, we've helped many women overcome their struggles with infertility, weight gain, anxiety and depression and reduce their risk for life-threatening related conditions.
