Food Box Packing
The St. Michael Royalty helped us out with our first ever group packing event for the Emergency Food Box Network!

Calling all group volunteers! We are looking for groups to help out with our backpack food program packing for students in need ages Pre-K to 4. The meals will be given to those opting into the program via our Head Start centers across the county. Packing times can vary but must be done prior to Wednesday AM. A group of 8-10 volunteers would be ideal. The event only takes about 1 hour to complete and you will be provided training upon arrival. No donation is required to volunteer!

Description

WCCA operates the only county-wide food shelf in Wright County from the Family Service Center in Waverly.

In addition to addressing the immediate emergency need for food, WCCA assists residents to access other more long term services that will help to assure the family has adequate resources in the future to provide for nutrition and other basic needs. Routinely, a self declaration of income and the nature of the family emergency are requested at the time of service.

At the food shelf, we have launched new food security programs that are additional efforts towards hunger relief in the community. The Backpack Food Program, Emergency Food Box Network and Mobile Food Shelf are all areas seeking volunteers.
