Alpha Search and Recovery will be ATTENDING an training event that needs volunteers:

There will be a search canine and handler training on Friday Aug 25th thru Sunday Aug. 27th. We are looking for people to come out and hide for the search dogs to assist in their training. We will have handlers from around Texas coming in to do training as a group.

The volunteers need to be willing to run, walk, and hide from the dogs. We will provide the specific scenarios once we pair the volunteer with a dog. When found by the dog, they should also be willing to play with the dog per the handlers instructions or offer the dog it's treat reward.

As a volunteer, you will be provided with a location to walk to in order to "hide" from the canines. The canines will then come find the missing person. The exact training location will change from day to day, but will be in or near Alvin.

Volunteers must be willing to dedicate at least 2 hours of their time. We will be enjoying nature, so dress appropriately with closed toed shoes and comfortable pants. Be sure to bring water, sunscreen, bug spray and maybe a good book or electronic device to keep you busy during the down time. All high school students or older are welcome to participate.

If interested, please provide the day and time frame you wish to attend. A confirmation email will be sent after sign-up to confirm your volunteer slot. At that time we will provide you with the location for the day you wish to attend.

Event Times:
Friday, Aug. 25th: 8am- 5pm

Saturday, Aug. 26th: 8am-6pm
Sunday, Aug. 27th: 8am- 12pm
