CIS needs help getting ready for our silent auction! Our event site requires photos and we would love for a photographer to come to our office either Monday August 28 or Tuesday August 29 to take pictures of our items and help upload the files onto our computer. We have about 20 items that we would need pictures for (mainly jewelry and gift bags). The entire process should take less than two hours! Volunteer is encouraged to bring their own camera (capable of taking hi-res photos) and cable for connecting to our computer (USB or HDMI compatible). Please contact Jane Sanders at jsanders@cischarlotte.org for questions and interest.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to surround students with a community of support empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.
Description
Please Note: We typically do not have access to students over the summer months; therefore, individual volunteer placements for School/Reading Buddies, Tutors, or Mentors are made from September through the end of March each school year. While you may complete our Volunteer Interest Form at any time, please keep this Sept-March timeframe in mind if you are interested in one of these volunteer roles that is matched to an individual student
Communities In Schools believes all students deserve five basic resources: A one-on-one relationship with a caring adult; A safe place to learn and grow; A healthy start and a healthy future; A marketable skill to use upon graduation; A chance to give back to peers and the community. Communities In Schools is part of the nation's largest stay-in-school network helping young people continue their education. Some of the challenges students face include family conflict, poor self esteem, drug and alcohol abuse, juvenile crime, illiteracy, poor health, and teen pregnancy.
