Computer Lab

The Adult Literacy Program at the Gilroy Library is looking for English or Spanish speaking Computer Coaches to help adult learners acquire much needed computer skills from basic to intermediate level. We are looking for people who are patient and flexible. We ask that our coaches be comfortable performing the following tasks:

  • Teach mousing and/or basic Word Processing skills
  • Help learners obtain and use e-mail accounts
  • Assist learners in using the Internet
  • If requested by the learner, teach the basics of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Troubleshoot minor computer/printer problems in the computer lab
There is no set schedule as we work with everyone's availability. If you can commit to meet at least once a week for a couple of hours over a four-month period, this is your opportunity to make a long and lasting difference in someone's life!

This opportunity is open to people eighteen and older.
