Mission Statement

Our mission: To protect the rights and address the needs of persons in forced or voluntary migration worldwide and support their transition to a dignified life. Our vision: Immigrants, refugees, and uprooted people will live dignified lives with their rights respected and protected in communities of opportunity.

Description

The U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) is a national, nonprofit, non-governmental, nonsectarian, nonpartisan refugee resettlement and advocacy organization. We advance the rights and lives of those who have been forcibly or voluntarily uprooted. For over 100 years, the unwavering commitment of our leadership, team, network of service providers, and advocates has helped redirect the destiny of countless vulnerable lives. Established in 1916, USCRI Cleveland has served refugees and immigrants for 100 years. In the neighborhoods across Cleveland, Ohio, we open doors for uprooted people, helping the world’s most vulnerable rebuild their lives. We are part of a nationwide network that breaks through social, cultural, and economic barriers so previously interrupted lives can flourish. The first welcome begins with navigating American culture, laying solid foundations for a fresh start, and making essential community connections to successfully integrate into our community.
